26 hospitalized after gas leak in Jambusar village

Twenty-six people were admitted to Jambusar referral hospital following chlorine gas leak in a factory near Piludra village.Sources said that these people complained of nausea and irritation of eyes after the leak.

BHARUCH: Twenty-six people were admitted to Jambusar referral hospital following chlorine gas leak in a factory near Piludra village. Sources said that these people complained of nausea and irritation of eyes after the leak. Two of them even lost consciousness. The cause of the leak at Transmetal Limited is being investigated.

The discharge valve of one of the reactors failed and a chemical leaked. The workers drained water on the chemical that led to generation of acid fumes."
The news about gas leak led to panic in Piludra village. A group of around 50 persons rushed to the entrance of the industrial unit and broke the glasses.
